About SOFCC Warriors Athletics

In the year 2007, God gave Pastor Jeffrey Wooten a vision to assist our Senior Pastor Dr Michael A Freeman with the Fellowship piece of our overall mission statement. He was invited to a flag football game that a couple of young people in the Children's Ministry at the time were participants in. That's when Holy Spirit gave him the insight to begin creating what is now known as Warrior Athletics. He met with Coach Dion Golatt who began to expose him to others who were already involved in Youth Athletics. Once this information was obtained, it was presented to Dr. Freeman for approval, and "Warriors Athletics was birthed." We started out with Baseball (SOFCC Royals) and in 2008 introduced Tackle Football and Cheer into our community. It was decided to brand and combine all sports that we were currently participating in under the newly found SOFCC Warrior's Athletic Department. The goal was to offer opportunities for young people and adults inside and outside of the four walls of our ministry to experience our Warrior PRIDE. It's our desire for people to have an encounter with God that will cause an unforgettable experience. We know and understand how important Discipleship happens to be in order for others to be successful in life. Warrior Athletics is a vital part of our community because we place great focus on (CHILL) Changing Hearts Instead of Loosing Lives.

  • About SOFCC

Spirit of Faith Christian Center (SOFCC) was founded by Dr. Michael A. Freeman, in October 1993. For the first three and a half years of the ministry, services were held in the auditorium of Anacostia High School. Continuing to follow God's mandate for his life, Dr. Freeman sought God for a place to house the vision that God had given him for SOFCC.

With a strong witness from God, Dr. Freeman led the congregation to the abandoned storefronts and property formerly known as Oxon Run Plaza. When he first approached the owner, regarding the cost of the property, the owner laughed because of the ministry's financial status. This did not move Dr. Freeman in the least because he firmly believes that "No" today doesn't mean "No" tomorrow. He stood on Ezekiel 36:33-36 concerning having the property to house the vision:

Two years later, Oxon Run Plaza became what is now the first church home of SOFCC, Faith Plaza.
